Why we cover Comfort Gels with Plastic Wrap.

If you have ever been trained professionally, you were taught to cover numbing gel with plastic wrap. Most artists know to do it. Fewer understand why it works.

Covering numbing gel does three important things.

First, it traps moisture at the surface of the skin. Hydrated skin is more permeable, which allows anesthetic agents to pass through the outer barrier more efficiently.

Second, it prevents evaporation. When numbing products are left uncovered, they can dry prematurely, limiting penetration and creating uneven results across the treatment area.

Third, it creates a controlled micro-environment. The wrap helps maintain consistent temperature and contact, allowing the numbing agents to work within their intended window instead of unpredictably speeding up or stalling out.

This is where technique matters.

Covering numbing is not about forcing it to work harder. It is about helping it work as designed. Too little time and you lose effectiveness. Too much time and you do not gain additional benefit.

Sensationless is formulated to respond predictably under wrap. When used with intention and proper timing, the wrap enhances penetration while preserving stable skin behavior for pigment implantation.

Plastic wrap is not a shortcut.
It is a tool.

And like any tool, results depend on how you use it.
